Bjarne grew up in Northern-Norway. He learnt  to enjoy nature in childhood, and ever since he has been exploring the elements, both in Norway and abroad. Whenever has the chance he will head for the outdoors, with skis or climbing gear over his shoulders. Bjarne has sailed to America, following the old Viking route from Norway. He has also crossed large parts of the Canadian wilderness by cano.

Bjarne has ten years of operational experience from the Norwegian Armed Forces. He has a Wilderness First Responder medical certification, is a certified climbing instructor, and is attached to an alpine search and rescue team.
